  • One of the CD Windows98Me or CD/floppy Boot Windows98/Me. The Boot floppy can be obtained by worsenning its ISO files from www.allbootdisks.com. My favorite is Windows 98SE No RAMDRIVE, because it already has its smartdrv. exe file. Read more...

    • First delete your C drive partition.
    • Recreate with FAT format 32. (Must let be recognized by Bootdisk Windows98)
    • Boot with Windows installation CD 98 or floppy Boot Windows98.
    • Enter the DOS prompt
    • Choose Select  "START COMPUTER WITH CDROM SUPPORT".Read more...
    • Copy smartdrv. exe to your partition FAT32 (C:). (That's why you need FAT32, because DOS can not read NTFS, but when you have a way to have DOS can read NTFS, you can use NTFS format).
    • Run SMARTDRV. exe (to speed read Write FAT32). Smartdrv. exe you can get from the Windows installation CD 98SE/Me or from the ISO image of the file I mentioned above. If there is not also, you can search the Internet.
    • Insert the Windows XP CD.
    • Discover for yourself what Drivenya is, because usually the drive for CDROM has been shifted because it is occupied by Virtual RAMDRIVE. Read more...
    • On your Windows XP CD, go to the I386 directory, or give it a "CD i386 " command. type  "Winnt " and bring up the blue screen. 
    • Press ENTER to select the path  "CDDRIVEYOU:  i386" As the source file from the CD.
    • The contents of the CD WIndows XP (480MB) will be copied to the drive C: you.
    • When finished, eject the CD and press ENTER to boot from your C drive.Read more...
    • Continue the installation of Windows XP as usual. If in the next step appears option to convert partition C: you to NTFS, please convert it to NTFS, because your data in C: Earlier will not be lost.
